Disney again!

Spent this week watching season one of Adventure Time, and it has colonized my brain. Evidence below.

Weekly Art Challenge -

Redesign Disney characters.

This one was tough! How to do a recognizable redesign of such iconic characters, without repeating other's work!

I started sketchin', and I started to like the idea that these core Disney characters might be imagined as warriors in a fantasy world; shown after years of hard campaigning (against the beagle boy Orc army?)....

I particularly like Berserker Donald.

MECHAGODZILLA 2....and friend. A painting for my nephew...

...who has gone bonkers for Kaiju.

Tried to keep that cheap pulpy poster print feel that I've seen on the marketing material for those movies...slightly wonky compostion due to the (quite correct) art direction that the image 'needs more monsters'. Sage advice, for sure, and always applicable.

...and then it got colored. Not quite sure how that happened!

Challenge from last week continued...

Little rider below; this time I took on the 'Big Vehicle' challenge. At least, a coupla' sketchy thumbs of 'em!
